Tassels and Florals

At this point I’m sure everyone is very well acquainted with BaubleBar’s Sugarfix line for Target. While, I tried hard to stay away from these pretty accessories, I failed miserably. I bought two pairs of tassel earrings. At least, I have contained my shopping impulse and only purchased two pairs. 😉

If we’re friends on Instagram, you probably saw them already. If not, go follow me so that you can see sneak peeks of what I share here! This is one of the pairs in photos below.

Making Burrito Bowls is So Easy

Making Burrito Bowls is So Easy

It’s taco Tuesday! And while this is NOT a taco recipe, it’s the same cuisine so keep scrolling. 😛 Last week, I made these super easy and delicious burrito bowls, they didn’t require much effort at all.

If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peek on my stories. And because a promise is a promise, I am sharing the recipe below.

Burrito Bowls Toppings

Rice and Chicken

First, I made about a cup and a half of rice. While the rice was cooking, I seasoned three chicken breasts with a little bit of adobo, minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Once cooked, I chopped each breast, added a bit of cilantro and set aside.

Spring Safety Tips for Parents

By Aurora M.

Now that the weather is warming up, it’s a great idea to send your kids outside to play for a little while every day. The fresh air will be good for them, and it will give them a chance to get some of their abounding energy out. It’s also a great opportunity for you to set up a chair in the shade and read that book you’ve been meaning to get to for the past 6 months, or maybe just open up the kitchen door and keep an eye on them as you catch up on work or the dishes. Every season brings its own set of things to be cautious of, so make sure that you’re mindful and watchful of your kids as they transition into spending more time outside in the warm weather!

Protect their skin

Because it’s warm, but not hot yet, a lot of people forget that you still need sunblock. However, it can be especially important now, when your children’s skin is still pale and tender from a winter spent indoors. Make sure that if your kids are going to be spending more than half an hour outside, you apply a quick coat of sunblock to protect them from harmful UV rays. Read More

Getaway to Destin’s Sandy Beaches

Living in Georgia had its perks, we were right on the border with Alabama and only hours from Florida-Georgia line. This led to many visits to Panama city in the past. And our most recent, a trip Destin, Florida. We planned all the details of this trip about two weeks prior to traveling. As a birthday celebration for our oldest.

Let me tell you, it was a great trip. So, keep reading to check on my all recommendations…

Destin Beach

Lodging

I will admit that because we stayed with the Destin Army Recreation Area; I am not familiar with the service or quality of other hotels in the area. But if you are a military family, I recommend that you check them out. The room was spacious, there was ample parking, lots of recreational options and great location – right off the water and close to other Destin amenities.

Breakfast

If you are in Destin or near, you have got to check out the Donut hole. It’s a diner style restaurant which I could compare to IHOP; but better.

Lobster Tails in under 30 Minutes!

Lobster Tails in under 30 Minutes!

Making lobster tails? That was a definite first. Really, how many people think the lobster is a fancy meal?! I’m raising my hand on this one! It’s like steak; a special occasion meal.

Quite frankly, I never thought that lobster was affordable enough for me to buy and make at home. But while shopping I noticed the promotional price on the lobster tails; and I had to buy some.

I’ll confess that I got ahead of myself and bought the tails without having a plan on how to prepare them, but making them wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Cutting the lobsters tails

Cut through the top part of the tail with kitchen scissors. Then flip and crack the ribs through the bottom to open up the shell and loosen up the meat.

Mermaid Party Ideas for First Birthday

Mermaid Party Ideas for First Birthday

The first birthday party is the biggest for me. I celebrated my first daughter’s birthday with a big party. And of course, I had to do the same for my littlest. Now, because her birthday is in Spring, I knew I wanted it to be colorful! So I went for a Mermaid party theme, which in reality is more of a summer theme. 😛

Invitations

The first thing was get the invitations. I found this cute and affordable invitation from Marley Design on Etsy. Since it was a digital copy, I used Shutterfly to print and mail them out on my behalf. It was so easy and I highly recommend it, zero stress! 😉
