Thanksgiving is next week! And if you’re unsure about what to wear, let me help a little. In my family, we like to dress up for the holidays. That means from Thanksgiving outfit all the way to New Year’s. But dressing up doesn’t mean a full formal ensemble. It can be something as simple as elevating your usual casual outfits to be a bit more chic.
I’ll likely wear the plaid skirt below or even jeans. How will I elevate these? Well, for the jeans, I’d add a nice pair of shoes. These point toe pumps are my favorite, I feel that they go with everything. Although, realistically speaking, since we’re staying home and making all the meals, heels are not ideal. So I’ll probably opt for point toe flats; I have a snake print pair that I just love.
The top that I paired the jeans with is under $20, yes you read that right. What I love is that the neckline gives it a certain sense of elegance. Instead of wearing my everyday necklace, I wore large statement earrings that would add to the beautiful neckline and not distract from it. If we were going to friends or family, I’d wear this handbag because it’s large enough to carry all I could need but also because I love the chain detail on it. If you live in warmer weather, this top can be paired with a skirt and ankle boots for a casual chic look.
I got the plaid skirt because I like to have options and I love that it’s neutral so it can be worn with different tops; I paired it with both black and white here. This skirt can be easily paired with your choice of boots. I love ankle boots but over the knee, slouch, and Chelsea boots are all great options. Minimal jewelry will do the trick to pull the rest of look together.
I hope these two outfits have given you some ideas on what your Thanksgiving outfit will look like. Whatever you choose, I hope it’s something that makes you feel comfortable and chic.
