The worst of winter is over and spring and summer is on the way- exciting days await! Times spent outdoors with friends and family, travel, days out and working through your bucket list- what could be better. However something that fills many of us with dread when the warmer weather rolls back around is the thought of wearing swimwear in public. Here are a few things to consider if you’re already stressing!
Improve Your Physique
If you’re over your ideal BMI and don’t like the idea of wearing a bikini because of your shape or size, then this is something that’s totally in your control! We still have a few months until the hottest days of the year arrived, giving you plenty of time to work on your physique. A plan like the new wheygan diet can help you to lose fat while gaining muscle, a great combination for when you want to look good in a bikini.
Otherwise you could clean up your diet and hit the gym, or find any exercise that you enjoy. Something high intensity will work the quickest but start at a level you’re comfortable with and work your way up. Not only will you look better but you’ll be fitter and healthier too meaning the summer in general will be much more enjoyable.
Shop For Flattering Swimwear
Regardless of your body shape, the right swimwear is make or break your confidence. Whether you’re tall or short, slim or curvy, busty or flat or anywhere in between, you should spend time trying on pieces and choosing swimwear that’s right for you. Mix and matching will always give you more options than choosing a bikini set, for example if you’re bigger on the bottom and smaller on top how about a pair of boy short bottoms or a skirt bikini bottom with a string bikini top?
Swimsuits or tankinis are good if you don’t want to show your stomach. And a swim dress can hide your stomach and behind too while it looks very flattering. Experiment with different styles, cuts, colors, you can always buy some cute cover ups if you’re still not completely confident.
Are you still rocking your ‘winter bod’? Trying on bikinis while you’re pale and hairy is never going to look the best, so instead of standing in changing rooms and not looking your best why not get it sorted? Go to a salon or have a pamper day, have a wax or shave and moisturise before you hit the swimwear shops. Not only will it make you feel more confident but it will give you a better idea of how you will look when you’re ready to hit the beach. 😉
No matter what your shape or size is, a tan can make a big difference. Lots of people report that they feel slimmer when they’re tanned! If you’re trying on your swimsuits and just aren’t happy with the way they look, one option would be to get yourself a tan and pamper yourself all over and try again.
Consider a Nip Tuck
Sometimes diet and exercise won’t work in giving you the appearance you want. For example, if you have loose skin or are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts then all of the diet and exercise in the world won’t matter. In these cases, a cosmetic procedure might be needed to achieve the look you want. Be sure to weight up the positives and negatives of plastic surgery, it’s a huge decision. However if it’s something you’ve been thinking about for a while and will make you feel better about yourself then go for it, you have plenty of time to heal by this summer.
Swimwear shopping can be hard work even for the most body confident. Essentially you’re wearing not a lot of clothes in a very public place, there’s not really anywhere to hide in a small swimsuit. But do what you can to get yourself looking and feeling great, and get yourself into a good frame of mind. Remember, no one is perfect and WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL in our own way. There’s someone out there that would love to look the way you do, so embrace your looks from head to toe.
