Summer is almost over and our focus is slowly shifting from summer plans to back- to- school planning. While it seems that most of our back- to- school prep is about supplies and outfits, I have made it a mission to think beyond that. For me, it is important to think about my little one’s health, and with Renew Life® products, it is easy to keep little ones healthy and happy for the new school year! Renew Life Kids Daily Boost Probiotic, for instance, is at the top of our back- to- school list this year.
I’ve added this probiotic supplement powder stick to my little one’s morning routine, because it provides everyday support for my little one’s digestive and immune health. By simply giving her one packet per day, I can prepare her for a healthy and strong start for the new school year.
As moms we worry about ingredients, but the Kids Daily Boost is free of gluten and soy. It is very convenient because of its fast-melting powder form. It tastes like fruit punch, which makes it something that my little one looks forward to. It contains 10 billion guaranteed live cultures per serving, so it makes me feel confident about her digestive health.

School starts in less than a month! And I can hardly believe how quickly summer has gone by. As I wrap my head around the fact that school will be here in no time, I’ve decided to get a jumpstart on back-to-school planning.
For me, planning goes beyond the backpack, clothes and supplies. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are of major importance to me in planning our back-to-school routine. My little one’s nutrition is one area where I do not compromise! So, this school year, I will be adding Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars as an option for her lunch and snacks.
These soft-baked bars are delicious and made with real fruit and whole grains. They are the perfect amount of sweet and Non GMO -Project verified, Certified vegan, Dairy Free, Soy Free and Nut Free. The fact that they have recognizable ingredients puts me at ease as a parent. I love being able to know that my little ones are eating healthy snacks. Plus, they are available in Certified Gluten Free varieties.
Because they’re conveniently packed, it’s easy for me to add them to lunchboxes and even enjoy when on-the-go. The different flavors are perfect for satisfying everyone’s tastebuds! While I love the Raspberry flavor, my little ones seem to like the Blueberry bars and my husband has claimed the Fig flavor as his go-to.
If you’re looking for an affordable, wholesome snack the entire family will enjoy look no further. These Fig Bars are so delicious that you can eat them any time of day; from breakfast, to lunch and snack time.

When RITAS come through the door, the party starts! Whether I’m hosting a small get together or party, I like having options that are delicious and convenient to serve. RITAS are hassle-free, perfect for entertaining a crowd and a party must in my book. Plus, they’re the perfect pairing for all my BBQ favorites. And when I learned about the limited edition Pine-Apple-Rita, I knew I had to try this new flavor. I love all the flavors equally, but this may be my new favorite. It’s just so refreshing and everything about it says summer!
When it comes to the food, I think nothing says BBQ like American classics. That’s why my go-to options are ribs, potato salad, hot dogs and sometimes burgers. Because I live in Texas, Tex-Mex options are also a must! I’ll admit that I didn’t know much about the Tex-Mex cuisine until moving here. I learned quickly and a few foods grew on me. Some of my most favorites to serve during get togethers are sliced beef fajitas with warm tortillas and pico de gallo, while having delicious sides like corn and guacamole are true crowd pleasers. Doesn’t this sound like the perfect spread to pair with cold RITAS and their juicy flavors?
I’ve talked about Galveston in the past and it’s because it is the closest beach town to Houston. I’ll admin that while the water is not clear blue like that of other beach towns, I still love Galveston. Even more I love the atmosphere, people, food and entertainment options. The people of Galveston are so laid back and easy going, exactly what you’d expect from residents of a beach town. The food is pretty darn good and I have a few spots that have become favorites, read about them here. As far as entertainment, there are plenty of options for adults and children alike. We like to keep it simple and the girls don’t mind, so we have done all of the below and had a blast.
1. Take the Bolivar Ferry –
This is favorite because on all occasions we have been able to spot dolphins. This is exiting for the girls because it’s not an animal that you see often. It is also really neat to travel with the seagulls who follow along in hopes of being fed. Though you’re not supposed to, people often sneak in a treat for them.
2. Eat at Pier 21 –
Being near the sea, means better seafood options. There are some all over Galveston but I have to say that some of the restaurants along Pier 21 have great options, in particular Fisherman’s Wharf. Don’t be fooled, their extensive menu has plenty of non-seafood items too.
3. Sit along the seawall –
Whether you sit along the benches or set up on the sand, it is nice to hang out by the seawall. Plus, it is also within walking distance of many popular sports in Galveston.
4. Visit Pleasure Pier –
Built on the grounds of a hotel that was swallowed by a hurricane, the pier is now one of Galveston’s top destinations. There’s a handful of fair-like games and rides, for grown ups and kids. It’s the perfect place for the entire family to have fun and create memories.
5. Visit Jamaica Beach –
This is one of my favorite beaches because you can drive on. And with our little ones, it is much more comfortable to park your car, pop the trunk open and set up right in front of it. You don’t have to worry about parking meters or traffic either. And you can stay and watch the sunset before heading back to your hotel or home in our case.
If you’re ever in Houston, make sure to stop by Galveston. It’s worth a visit! If you have ever visited, let me know what you did and what was your favorite part. I love talking about Galveston. 🙂
I’ll admit that I wasn’t concerned with home decor until we bought our home three years ago. Even before the house was completely built, I would search and save all sort of ideas on Pinterest. I would day about decorating every space in our soon to be home, from the nursery to the guest bedroom. Three years later, I still enjoy decorating. The only difference is that I do it on a much smaller scale.
Our master for instance, is neutral. I’ve made it that way so that with the simple motion of swapping out throw pillows, I could make the room feel fresh and ready for a new season. Our bedroom usually has pops of blue – you may have seen it as I have shared it on Instagram before.
This summer, I thought it would be fun to add bolder prints and colors. Since nothing says summer like leaf prints, I had to have these when I found them online. The yellow pillow covers, I found at our local IKEA and thought they’re contrast well with the bold leaf print. I do love that they have a velvet feel – super soft. While, I know it doesn’t seem like much, throw pillows are the easiest and least expensive way to change up any room in a home.
The foundation of a bedroom is good bed linens, so I also got a new king size set from Bluebird Linens. I am beyond pleased with this linens set! They’re great quality unlike the last set we had. So, if you plan to decorate your bedroom consider them for all your bed linens needs – you won’t be disappointed.
