Who else has been itching to re-decorate the whole house?! 🙋🏽♀️ If I’m honest, spending all this time home has made me start analyzing how each room can be improved. Something that I’ll admit wasn’t on my to-do list before. After all, this space was supposed to be temporary. Being that I can always take my decor wherever I go… I pulled the trigger and started making small changes. I’m a long way from done, but I was so excited about the small updates that transformed our living room that I couldn’t wait to share. 🙂
From what you can see on the photos, the major change in the space was the wall art. Not that there was anything wrong with the existing canvas. But I’m not much for abstracts unless the colors are more on the muted side. The framed canvases that I used to replace the previous art align more with my vision for the space. I feel that the colors are tranquil and inviting. While I don’t have a green thumb – at all – I knew I wanted to add some greenery. When I saw the Fiddle Leaf at the store, I knew it was it! I’ve only wanted one for the last three years. 😅 Now that I finally got one, I plan to do all I can to keep it alive – so wish me luck. Better yet, leave me any tips in the comments if you know about Fiddle Leaf plants. 😉
The rug was not replaced because it is fairly new. Neither were the throw pillows or curtains. I decided to leave these for now. But I think those are the next items to be switched out. I think some blues to go with the wall art could work in the space. I also plan to get a nice coffee table, even though the girls are enjoying the open space. A basket or planter for the fiddle leaf are also on the list. Once I have these, I think I can move on to the master bedroom. There only a few changes will be made and I hope they will also make an impact like in the living room.
I shopped locally so I don’t have links to these exact items, but I have linked very similar decor below for you to check out. 😉 So tell me, what do you think about these small updates that transformed the living room?
