There is nothing quite like a family adventure. Each adventure is the chance to build memories together, to see each other laugh and smile and share in the moments that will live long in each of your memories. Family adventures are those unique experiences that manage to bring you closer together no matter how far they take you away from home. They are the mementos that will grace your home’s walls forever, spark conversations and put a grin on your face during tough times.
Oh, yeah, there really is nothing quite like a family adventure, which is why we’ve pulled together a list of adventures that you and your family should try and plan because they will build memories like no other.

Safari In The West
While much of the area north of San Francisco is considered to be wine land, there is a 400-acre wildlife reservation hidden just outside Sonoma – Safari West. Sure, it may not have a patch on South Africa’s Kruger Park, but with animals like cheetahs, gazelle, wildebeest, and giraffes all roaming the grounds freely, it’s the next best thing. Not just that, but you can take open-air tours of the grounds too, meaning your kids might catch a glimpse of wild flamingoes and lemurs.

Camp Out In The Wild West
When you close your eyes and imagine what the Wild West used to look an feel like, you probably imagine towering canyons, tree-scattered cliffs, red rocks, heart-stirring vistas, open panoramas and epic landscapes. In short, you imagine the Grand Canyon and that is exactly why you need to pack the car with a tent and other essentials and enjoy a camping trip under the stars of the Navajo.

Come Together And Solve
If you’re looking for a way to work as a team and bring your family closer together than ever before, you need to book an afternoon at your nearest Escape Room because nothing is going to have your heart-pumping, nerves jangling and hairs on the back of your neck standing to attention more than trying to escape a terrifying simulation. It could be a Museum Heist, escaping a hostage situation or trying to track down an undercover operative – whatever it is, you need to work together if you want to make it. This is the kind of family outing that you’ll be talking about for a long, long time to come.

Cruising Is A Must-Have Adventure
Choosing a holiday to please both parents and children can be challenging, but cruises provide an epic solution for everyone in your family. These ships are now so big and so action-packed, every day will be full of some sort of adventure, from rock-climbing to space-age water slides, not to mention that you will all have your own space. These are the kind of hassle-free adventures every family has hoped to go on at some stage or another; they just haven’t known it until now.

Join The Treetop Tribe
We don’t need to draw this one out; we just need to say the words ‘Go Ape’. Yeah, we’re talking about a family adventure in a forest canopy, on a network of zip lines and aerial adventure courses. What could be better than that?

What a great article! As a child, my parents would bring us on family adventures and we loved it!! I will definitely do the same thing when I have my own family (especially going camping!!!). Thank you for sharing! 🙂
What wonderful memories you are making for the entire family!
I can’t wait to try some of these out when my LO gets older. Thanks for the ideas.
I plan on trying some of these myself. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

Every time we take an adventure we make such great memories as a family. They are helpful to creating smiles when our everyday lives aren’t going as well as we want them too! We really want to do the Treetop Tribe adventure at some point! It looks like so much fun!
I agree. Traveling is so good for the soul, to break away from the day to day and create many memories.

I agree that family adventures help the family to bond closer together. I am trying to think of an idea for us to do together as a family for “Memorial Day” . I like your idea of camping out. Maybe we will try it.
They really do. Camping would be fun, especially now before it gets too hot. Good luck finding an idea, whatever it is, I am sure it will be fun.

Traveling with kids is an amazing experience. For me, learning through travel is great for the kids and making the whole family happier.
Traveling does provide a lot of learning. Especially for the little ones.

These are great and fun ideas. We just got an Escape Room in our city and we’ve been wanting to try it!
There is one here and I need to try it soon. I hear it is the best.

Thanks for the ideas. I tried zip-lining with my little ones and it was a scream (literally)!
Haha I can only imagine. I’ll admit I did a lot of screaming too but it was so much fun. I’d do it again.

These are all such wonderful ideas! We love to take vacations as a family and look forward to making memories each year!
Family vacations are always so much fun. And so many fond memories are made. Even obstacles while vacationing become topics of conversation for years to come.

I would love to try an Escape room, it sounds like a wonderful time! Cruises are a really fun time, I haven’t been on one in a while, but it’s a fun time!
Cruises are my favorite, you can visit so many places during a single trip.

Fantastic summer adventure ideas for the family. I have been wanting to try an escape room, my husband actually worked on designing one here in town so I have a feeling we may be seeing some tickets here soon.
That will be fun Jen. Keep us posted on your experience once you go. 😉

We love family adventures because they provided family bonding and wonderful memories!! And I second the escape room…if your kids are old enough…do it! We did our first one this year and are hooked. And zipling with the kids is on my summer bucket list!
They really do. It brings the family closer somehow.

These are great ideas! My husband and I will be trying an escape room this month. Our daughter is only 3, but I’d like to do some of the more adventurous vacays you suggested when she’s a little older!
That’s a lot of fun Angela. I hope you and your husband enjoy it. 🙂
