Our littlest turned SIX y’all. It had been a few years since we did a large party. So I wanted this one to be especial even though we only had about a week to plan the party. We celebrated her all weekend long and she had a blast to say the least. π As soon as we decided on a party theme, I got to shopping. I used Pinterest to get a lot of ideas and saved most to my DIY Ideas and Inspiration board. We picked a Flamingo Party theme because it would be perfect to do pool side.
Though her birthday is in Spring, we often opt for summer themes. In fact, her last birthday was an under the sea, Mermaid Party Theme.
Decorations
Considering that I had less than a week to plan the party, I had to find a way to quickly get my hands of the decor, food and more. Luckily Amazon had it all on hand and I got it within days with their fast shipping – the perks of shopping online. π The balloon garland which came with an assortment of colors and the leafs for under $15 was my favorite buy. It brings a clear strap to align the balloons making it super easy to gather them, tape for the leafs and a string for hanging. The number cake topper which I would have done myself, I also got on here. The plastic flamingoes that I got for decorating the plant and grass, were under $15 and from Amazon too. The fringe curtain that I used for the backdrop is also available for under $10.

Food & Snacks
The leaf shaped trays I got online and have linked below. While the napkins I got at a local party supplier, I linked similar napkins below as well. They’re not exactly flamingo, but they add flair to the Flamingo Party Theme. π The grass below the cake is actually from this year’s Easter baskets. Yes, I tend to save whatever can be rescued at the end of these parties to use later. π
The cake and cupcakes I hired a baker to do because there is no way I could’ve done flamingos like these. I am skilled but I also know my limits. π For food we had burgers and hot dogs – not pictured here. The snacks included individual bags of chips, cookies, candy, cake and ice cream, of course. The drinks were kid size Powerade bottles, which I kept cold by filling a small inflatable pool with ice, such a fun idea.
Goodie Bags
It was a pool party, so I included goggles for each kiddo in their goodie bag. A flamingo pen and note pad were also included. I had them use the same baggie for all the candy they’d each get from the piΓ±ata. π I had planned for the party to continue through the night, so sparklers were also included to their bags. It was like fourth of July y’all. To my luck, a neighbor had planned for fireworks, so Nalani also got to see a mini show over the weekend. π It was a lot of work to put it al together, but my best friend and mom were there to help. Her cousin also helped a ton with the decorations, he really has an eye for these things. π
