Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 American girls have either left school early or missed school because of a lack of period products? I mean, can you imagine someone that you know missing out on activities that she enjoys and makes her confident, because of her period? Seeing statistics on this recently, truly touched me and pushed me to speak out on the issue. No girl should be in this situation! Especially due to something that’s so natural and reoccurring.
This back to school season, Always is on a mission to help ensure no girl in the U.S. misses school and loses confidence because she doesn’t have access to period protection. They are taking action to help #EndPeriodPoverty; and have partnered with HEB to raise awareness about the issue and donate to American girls in need. The donation will be made through Feeding America’s school pantry program; which provides food, toiletries and personal care products to kids in need.
Here’s how you can help too!
(1) When you purchase Always products from now until September 8th at your local HEB a donation will be made on your behalf. This includes purchases made through their convenient curbside grocery pick-up.
(2) You can purchase Always products and donate these directly to your local school pantries.
(3) Join the conversation and help end the stigma around periods and lack of access to period products. It is through awareness we can work together to find a solution to #EndPeriodPoverty.
As a woman and a mom, I feel that it’s up to me to be part of the solution. It makes me happy to know that Always gives back to our community and works at empowering millions of girls through puberty and confidence education, providing products to girls in need, and most recently by tackling societal barriers through the Always #LikeAGirl movement.
