Home: How I Re-Decorated Our Master Bedroom Retreat

Last month I made a decision to update our master bedroom. So I dedicated myself to hunting for pieces that I could add to the space. πŸ™‚ I really wanted to update this room and create a relaxing master bedroom retreat. I also didn’t want to spend too much money to re-decorate. So I shopped locally and online in an effort to save wherever I could.

The first change I made to the room, was adding art to the bare walls. When we lived in rentals I used to dream about owning our own space so that we could paint the walls. But with time I learn to love white walls and their flexibility. Now I often opt for adding bold pieces to decorate a space, instead of attempting to paint walls. It just much easier to change wall art than a colored wall. πŸ™‚

The framed seashell canvases I found locally. While I don’t have a link, I found some similar pieces and linked them for you below. These were the piece that inspired the rest of the room. My opinion on bedding is somewhat similar to the neutral walls. I decided on the white set so that I could easily add pops of color around it, like the throw blanket. We have tile floor throughout the apartment, so I added a set of natural fiber area rugs for some comfort. The jewelry dish is actually a shell we found at the beach. The nautical lamp you could get your hands on, so I’ve linked it.

We are minimalist to a certain extend, and you can see that because I have only made a handful of changes and already love the space. πŸ™‚ This space is also on the smaller side, so adding a ton of decor and such would just take away from that serene vibes I was after. So what do you think about our master bedroom retreat? Yay or Nay? πŸ™‚ Let me know below!

  1. I like the subtle nautical, beach-house kind of theme you added to this space. It’s not overboard, but the touches are really relaxing. I bet it’s like your own personal oasis when you go to sleep at night!
