The start of Thirty Minus One
After months of research, I decided to launch Thirty Minus One. Read More
It has been a while since I’ve shared a recipe… shame on me, for keeping all the yumminess to myself. 🙂 Truth is, I’ve been winging it, dinner, life, motherhood, everything!! Which is a testament to me needing some organization in my life at the moment. And meal planning action in the kitchen. Last week I made a sweet and spicy shrimp dinner worth sharing…
Because my love for rice is undeniable, this is the side that accompanied the shrimp. If you need basic instructions on how to make white rice, leave me a comment. 😉 I will walk you through it.
Today, I wanted to share five looks that I put together for a 5×5 Summer Challenge. Before I get started, are we friends on Instagram? I keep saying that’s where most of the fun takes place.
Don’t believe me? Go take a peek for yourself; it’s ThirtyMinusOne_Blog.
So you’re wondering what is a 5×5 Summer Challenge. It’s when you choose 5 pieces from your wardrobe, and you mix and match these to create five unique looks. No worries, the items don’t have to be new. Many of the items in my look below are ones that I had worn before – keep scrolling to see details.
Hello, hello! How is your Tuesday going? I’m still in denial that another week has begun and another month nearly ended. This pink romper though, it’s so bright I almost feel a little more cheerful. You can keep scrolling to shop similar items.
I love pink, then again what girl doesn’t. When I saw this romper, I had to get it! I love the little details, bow and ruffles by the thigh. It’s so breezy and perfect to dress up for date night or a girls night out.

Parenting has got to be one of the most stressful jobs on the face of the Earth, but it is also one of the most rewarding. Raising children and passing on all of the knowledge you’ve accrued in your own life is one of the most fulfilling goals that you can live up to, and gives many people a stronger sense of purpose, once they’ve had kids.
However, there’s a lot that can go wrong, when it comes to raising children, and you can’t possibly be there for them for every part of growing up. For this reason, it’s important to raise children who are confident and learn to take care of themselves in new and frightening situations. Here are some tips on how you can raise more confident children…
Encourage active habits
Nowadays, it’s all too common that children stay indoors all day. This isn’t to knock kids today, as it is more a sign of the times than anything, but there are real benefits to spending your childhood getting outside and physically doing things! Children who play outside are healthier and have an easier time doing physical activities, such as sports and dance. Playing outside also offers children the chance to socialize with other children, and learn how to get along with new people that they haven’t met before. This is an important skill that leads to more confidence, in the future.
If you haven’t already, you please check out The Asterisk Boutique – a contemporary women’s clothing boutique in Dixon, Illinois, that is ran by a small team and the sweetest owner. The styles available are perfect for bodies of all sizes.
If you follow the boutique on Instagram, you can get some serious inspiration on how to wear what is available on site. And you don’t have to be in Illinois to shop. 😉 You can shop right from here.
The kimono below is from the boutique’s fall collection. Can you tell by the beautiful burnt orange color? The great thing, is that it is super light, which makes it easy to wear it as we transition from summer to fall.
On the first look, I wore the kimono with a plain white tank, distressed shorts and my favorite wedges. Then accessorized with three tiered earrings, animal print bangle and my wooden watch.
