Trendy Thursday LinkUp: What I Packed and Wore for a Weekend in Austin

Did you see my posts and stories about our weekend in Austin? We spent two days at the Omni Barton Creek and let me tell you it was a much needed getaway. At least once a year, we try to take a solo trip, because couples vacations are as important as family vacations. So we called up Alanzo’s grandma and asked her to keep the girls for a few days – luckily, she agreed! The girls had a blast and so did we. Head on over to my Insta stories to check out highlights on our weekend in Austin. šŸ™‚

So today, I wanted to share what I wore with you, especially since it’s officially summer and I assume many of you may be looking for fun new pieces to add to your wardrobes.

Yellow Floral top

Nothing says summer like yellow, am I right? And I thought this breezy blouse would be perfect for traveling from Houston to Austin. I snagged it Express Factory Outlets along with the romper I shared last week. Getaway to Destin’s Sandy Beaches

Living in Georgia had its perks, we were right on the border with Alabama and only hours from Florida-Georgia line. This led to many visits to Panama city in the past. And our most recent, a trip Destin, Florida. We planned all the details of this trip about two weeks prior to traveling. As a birthday celebration for our oldest.

Let me tell you, it was a great trip. So, keep reading to check on my all recommendationsā€¦

Destin Beach

Lodging

I will admit that because we stayed with the Destin Army Recreation Area; I am not familiar with the service or quality of other hotels in the area. But if you are a military family, I recommend that you check them out. The room was spacious, there was ample parking, lots of recreational options and great location – right off the water and close to other Destin amenities.

Breakfast

If you are in Destin or near, you have got to check out the Donut hole.Ā It’s a diner style restaurant which I could compare to IHOP; but better.
