How to Satisfy Summer Time Antojos? Try a belVita Breakfast Parfait

This post is sponsored by NABISCO but all opinions are my own.

Summer is here and we are taking time to slow down and satisfy our antojos with quick but delicious recipes. One of the ways my family slows down is by doing things differently, like having breakfast in bed. 🙂 It’s the perfect way to satisfy our antojos and bond as a family. We have a handful of recipes that we love but the Make-it-Your-Own belVita Breakfast Parfait recipe is at the top of our list. It is a simple to follow recipe which only calls for a handful of ingredients and can be done in 10 minutes. Yes, you read that right!

The ingredient that we love most and always have in our home is the belVita Breakfast Biscuits. These are a go-to for my family and while we mostly eat them while on the go, it’s a snack that brings us together. The girls love sharing the belVita Cinnamon Brown Sugar Breakfast Biscuits, their favorite flavor. Now that it’s summer and we’re spending more time at home, it’s nice to be able to slow down and savor them.

Being able to incorporate them into delicious recipes like this belVita Breakfast Parfait is a plus. This fun recipe has helped us make some fun memories already. The girls have not stopped talking about this delicious breakfast idea!

They really enjoyed helping me pick up all of the ingredients that we needed to make the recipe at our local H-E-B. They agreed on what day we could have breakfast in bed because we needed to make sure Papi was home to enjoy this moment with us. And they each picked what jobs they would do with my supervision, of course. Nalani crumbled the biscuits because she is the smallest and did a great job at it. While, Nayelli helped me measure the ingredients; the yogurt, honey, pineapple and flaked coconut. It was my job to blend the yogurt and honey and put together each layer of the parfaits. At some point Nayelli took over as supervisor and kept saying, “Mami make sure to do the layers right!” 🙂

While we used the same ingredients as the original recipe, there are other options. You can use your favorite variety of belVita Breakfast Biscuits for example, or even add your favorite fresh fruit, like chopped peaches or sliced strawberries. These parfaits are truly a delicious treat in the morning; while being a nutritious and balanced breakfast. Did you know that belVita Breakfast Biscuits provide nutritious steady morning energy and 19g of whole grains? That’s one of the reasons why they’re mama approved and a regular in our home. 😉

If you’re looking to switch things up, I think you’ve found a recipe that will bring everyone together for breakfast! Save this recipe, head to your local H-E-B to pick up the ingredients for this recipe and give in to your antojos. Cajun Chicken Wings

Chicken wings are a must have here at home. They’re super easy to make, so I make them about once a month. And they don’t need to be thawed out which is great. If I haven’t decided what to make for dinner on any given day, I can take these out of the freezer and have them ready in under an hour.

While browsing around Pinterest I found this Cajun Chicken Wings recipe and decided to give it a try. It was delicious by the way.

Making Burrito Bowls is So Easy

Making Burrito Bowls is So Easy

It’s taco Tuesday! And while this is NOT a taco recipe, it’s the same cuisine so keep scrolling. 😛 Last week, I made these super easy and delicious burrito bowls, they didn’t require much effort at all.

If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peek on my stories. And because a promise is a promise, I am sharing the recipe below.

Burrito Bowls Toppings

Rice and Chicken

First, I made about a cup and a half of rice. While the rice was cooking, I seasoned three chicken breasts with a little bit of adobo, minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Once cooked, I chopped each breast, added a bit of cilantro and set aside.

Lobster Tails in under 30 Minutes!

Lobster Tails in under 30 Minutes!

Making lobster tails? That was a definite first. Really, how many people think the lobster is a fancy meal?! I’m raising my hand on this one! It’s like steak; a special occasion meal.

Quite frankly, I never thought that lobster was affordable enough for me to buy and make at home. But while shopping I noticed the promotional price on the lobster tails; and I had to buy some.

I’ll confess that I got ahead of myself and bought the tails without having a plan on how to prepare them, but making them wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Cutting the lobsters tails

Cut through the top part of the tail with kitchen scissors. Then flip and crack the ribs through the bottom to open up the shell and loosen up the meat.
