Traveling is a bit of a luxury, isn’t it. But if you work hard enough, and be as frugal with your money as possible, there’s no reason why you can’t fit in two vacations this year to the destinations you’ve been dreaming of. If your destination of choice is a tad expensive, like Bora Bora, then you’re going to need some inspiration to help you find the vacation destination of choice. Whether you’re looking for a bit of winter fun, or summer sun, there’s something out there for everyone. So here are a few ways in which you can make two nice vacations affordable, and some of the best destinations around the world to try that you might not have thought of.
To make your vacation affordable, is going to be hard. You need to put in the work to make sure you’re scraping together every last penny. To some people, the cutbacks in life are more than worth it when you have to amazing vacation destination to go on. So put in some extra shifts at work and begin putting aside the extra money into a savings account ready to book the vacation. You need to try and cut back on the other areas in life such as your social life, where you often might spend a little bit more money than you need to. Reduce your outings to once or twice a month, rather than every weekend, and stop spending money on food! Spending money on food is most likely going to be one of your biggest outgoings each month. Even just a trip to the supermarket to buy a meal deal is all going to add up. Then all you need to do is find an affordable vacation. Look out for the deals, and see if a last minute deal is going to save you a bit of money. A lot of companies overcharge for vacations which is why it is so important to shop around rather than going for the first vacation you see.

Poor mental health, sadly, is far too often an issue that many people leave unaddressed, or go about fixing in the wrong way. Every person has different ways that they deal with a troubled mind, as in the things that they do everyday to cope with any sort of mental health issues. However, sometimes it can be good to get away for a while so that you can get out of your own head and get a break from your usual environment.
For this reason, traveling is often a recommended thing to do after someone goes through a particularly trying chapter in their life, such as the loss of a loved one or dealing with something like addiction. Here are some ways that travel has a positive impact on your mental health…
Savannah! Knowing that I lived in Georgia for a few years before, you probably expect me to say that I have visited Savannah several times. Truth is, that we had to move away for me to become interested in visiting. For whatever reason, we always traveled South, to Florida. On this last trip to Georgia, I decided that Savannah was a MUST! And I’m glad that we did it.
Day 1 – We arrived and checked in at Hotel Indigo on Bay Street. The staff was welcoming and resourceful. The room was clean, modern and had a great view. After deciding what our night would look like, we went downstairs to Five Oaks Taproom for drinks and walked over to River St. for dinner at Chart House. We then walked around town a bit and called it a night – it’s age catching up with us. Just kidding! It’s really just parenthood. 🙂
First, are we friends on Instagram? If we’re not! Get to it. You’re missing out on all the live shares of my adventures. Like this trip to the Georgia Aquarium. Yes! It all happens there first and then I come to The Blog to spill details on everything. You can find me under Thirtyminusone_blog. 😉
So, last month I spent over three weeks in Georgia. It’s where my family lives and was home for a few years and where my husband and I met. We still have friends there and love going back to get away from the city life – ok, I do live in the suburbs but it’s a complete scenery change.

Houston = Home! For six years now and I love it here! Oh the city life – though I really live in the suburbs. 😉 But it’s nice to have a major city close by, and even better to have a beach near by. I will admit that while Galveston Beach is not the most sought after beach location and its water may not be crystal clear. I absolutely love taking a trip our there. Just breathing in that ocean air brings back so many good memories.

Living in Georgia had its perks, we were right on the border with Alabama and only hours from Florida-Georgia line. This led to many visits to Panama city in the past. And our most recent, a trip Destin, Florida. We planned all the details of this trip about two weeks prior to traveling. As a birthday celebration for our oldest.
Let me tell you, it was a great trip. So, keep reading to check on my all recommendations…
I will admit that because we stayed with the Destin Army Recreation Area; I am not familiar with the service or quality of other hotels in the area. But if you are a military family, I recommend that you check them out. The room was spacious, there was ample parking, lots of recreational options and great location – right off the water and close to other Destin amenities.
If you are in Destin or near, you have got to check out the Donut hole. It’s a diner style restaurant which I could compare to IHOP; but better.
