What I Packed and Wore for a Weekend in Austin

Did you see my posts and stories about our weekend in Austin? We spent two days at the Omni Barton Creek and let me tell you it was a much needed getaway. At least once a year, we try to take a solo trip, because couples vacations are as important as family vacations. So we called up Alanzo’s grandma and asked her to keep the girls for a few days – luckily, she agreed! The girls had a blast and so did we. So today, I wanted to share what I wore with you, especially since it’s officially summer and I assume many of you may be looking for fun new pieces to add to your wardrobes.

Yellow Floral top

Nothing says summer like yellow, am I right? And I thought this breezy blouse would be perfect for traveling from Houston to Austin. I snagged it Express Factory Outlets along with the romper I shared last week. Paired it with shorts because they’re super comfortable to travel in and with the Texas heat, it’s a bit hard to wear jeans at times.

Black One Shoulder Two Piece Swimsuit

This swimsuit has to be my favorite two piece. I just love the one shoulder detail and high waisted bottom. The bottoms are a higher cut than I usually wear but it still offered enough coverage in my opinion. Plus, it is only $15. 😉

Red Maxi Dress

I have always felt awkward trying on maxi dresses or skirts because of my height, but this one is a winner. I found it while shopping on T.J. Maxx online and thought it would be the perfect dinner dress. The fabric is light and breezy, the fit is flattering and it’s under $25.

Yellow One Piece Swimsuit

While I love this swimsuit, I will admit that this one is what I call my pool-side suit. The top is padded and the bottom lined but I think it could be too light if wet. Why do I have it? Well, I bought it, tried it on and missed the return deadline. Because I am now stuck with it, I figured I’d wearing to hang out by the water or with shorts over it. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Sounds silly, but what’s a girl to do? I don’t want to let it go to waste…

Animal Print One Piece Swimsuit

Target never disappoints and this one piece is from there. I love the print so much that I also wore it as a bodysuit and put together an entire outfit. An idea that was inspired by She Saw Style’s post. 🙂

As far as outfits, this is all I packed and wore for our weekend in Austin! I spent a lot of time in swimsuits and hanging out by the pool which was perfectly fine because it was very relaxing. 🙂
