I assume that you are following me on Instagram and if you’re not, you should! Seriously, I share it all there before it makes it to the blog. Like our most recent adventure to Austin. We spent two days at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin! Because traveling is in our DNA, we are always up for a trip, wether it’s near or far. Anything from a weekend getaway to a multi day vacation just helps us reset!
So, we were beyond excited to visit the newly renovated Omni Hotel, especially because it’s within driving distance to Houston. Since summer is in full swing, I thought I’d share our experience with you here in case that you are looking for a getaway too.
The Rooms
Upon arriving at the hotel our experience was great. We were welcome by the staff, who was really friendly and headed in to check in. The front desk staff was just as helpful and made the check in process a breeze. So we made our way up to our rooms within minutes of arriving at the hotel and the first thing we noticed after opening the door was the view! You could oversee most of the resort -from the pool to golf course – and waking up to this view each morning was one of my favorite things. But don’t get me wrong, we love everything else about the room too! The cleanliness, the sitting area by the window and spacious shower just to name a few.

The Spa
The spa was my husband’s favorite experience. We both got to enjoy a massage together, something we had not done before. And because he has back problems from serving in the ARMY, he loved it. It has definitely made a fun memory for us too because weeks later we’re still talking about it. I mean, we’re also parents and being able to relax this way was priceless. The spa felt so inviting and from the moment you walk through the door you feel a sense of relaxation, maybe it the scents and soothing music Whatever it was, it was amazing!
Dinning
The dinning options at the the Omni Barton Creek were above what we expected! Would you believe me if I told you there were a total of SEVEN dining options onsite? There’s no need to venture away from the hotel with so many options. So we decided to do in-room dining for breakfast one day – which was delicious. And tried Bob’s Steak & Chop House – which was recommended by the locals – for dinner another night.
I am already thinking of booking another staycation because of how much we loved straying there. I will make sure to share a bit more if we visit again this summer. In the meantime if you need ideas on what to wear to a staycation like this one, see my last post. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my weekender and you can shop over at Copper and Brass for one, just make sure to use THIRTYMINUSONE to save 20%. 😉

I’m not going to lie, the ESCAPE print on that bag is a little sinister to me, probably because I’ve seen Hostel too many times 😆 but I loved the place you stayed, it looked just dreamy!

Ha! I love the photo of your husband in the spa. I think it’s so cute when they enjoy stuff like that – my husband does, too!! I mean, we all need pampering. And that view out the hotel window is so pretty!!

I know there’s an Omni resort relatively close by to where I live, and I’ve been considering planning a staycation there at some point. Now, reading your review of this one in Austin, I’m convinced I gotta make a stay happen soon!
