What you need to do is the following; turn on the broiler in your oven and set the oven rack about halfway on the upper part of the oven.
Then prepare corn by removing the husks and silk from the corn cobs. Brush all sides of each corn cob with butter, margarine or olive oil; and place the corn cobs on a cookie sheet and in the heated oven. You have to let them broil for five to 10 minutes, turning them frequently, until the corn is golden brown and slightly charred all around.
