Beauty: Four Products I loved in July

Givenchy Lipstick

This deep red shade is my go-to these days. I love the formula because it lasts long and it’s gentle on the lips. It’s available at Sephora.

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro Filler Concentrate

This Moisturizer has been helping heal my mama eyes. It feels great on the skin and is my go-to when my eye area needs a boost. I love that it’s part of a brand I already use as part of my skincare routine.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion

This sunscreen is my all time favorite. It goes on clear and comes in a SPF 50 and SPF 30. Since discovering it, I have praised it and shared it with so many people. And it’s one of my go to.

Neutrogena Sunblock

Summer’s Eve® FreshCycle™ No-Rinse Cleansing Foam

I shared this product with you before and since I started using this new line, I haven’t stopped. This product is so convenient to have, both at home and on the go.

Hair La Vie

I try to switch my shampoo and conditioner often, even if it means coming back to a favorite at some point. I got to try these on combination with their hair growth vitamins. While I enjoyed using this product, there are a few things – like it’s consistency – that I didn’t love. The formula makes the scalp feel refreshed but in my opinion, it’s a bit tough on the hair.

Back to School Shopping and Trendy Finds at Burkes Outlets

Back to school shopping has to be my favorite thing to do with Nayelli! We’ve been doing BTS shopping for five years now but this year is really special because Nalani is joining us! Yes, I will have two kids in school this time around and I’m experiencing all the feels 😔! She’s going into pre-school and I can hardly believe it. So, to get a head-start on our shopping, we headed to Burkes Outlet! If you remember, I’ve shared my favorite finds from a recent haul here before. And because I found some great deals on my last haul, I knew I had to keep Burkes at the top of my shopping list for back to school season.

I love being able to find on trend styles at affordable prices, this is why I turned to Burkes Outlet to help get their wardrobes ready for the new school year. The best part is being able to conveniently shop both online and in-store. This time we decided to do most of our back to school shopping in store and the girls loved it. It was such a fun experience. This store is relatively new to our area and I couldn’t be more excited to have a Burkes Outlet close by. 😃

They each found the cutest tops and bottoms. Nayelli just couldn’t wait to get home and start putting outfits together with all the items she picked out. School doesn’t start for a few more weeks but she’s already thinking about which outfit she will wear on the first day of school. Burkes Outlet offers a lot more than clothing! The girls were also able to find the backpacks they will use this school year. There’s a large selection from fun characters to brand names like Jansport.

While shopping, they also found their favorite bows by JoJo to accessorize their outfits. I feel like we are ready for school after doing our shopping and can’t wait to share more of the outfits the girls picked out with you. If you have little ones who are going to school soon, make Burkes Outlet your Back to School destination. 😉

Trendy Thursday LinkUp + Styling Black Tees this Summer

I am a t-shirt loving kinda girl! I’m my closet white t-shirts, graphic tees and well t-shirts in general are never lacking! As I think ahead to fall, I am adding a few new pieces to my wardrobe. And I felt that a black T-shirt, would be the perfect addition. This one is just under $15 and part of the Nordstrom Sale!

T-shirts in my opinion can be dressed up or dressed down. While I went for a somewhat casual look, I love how block heels almost dress up this outfit. This black heel sandals go with so many outfits that I have no regrets about buying them. 😃 And is you’re on the market for new heels/sandals, I highly recommend these. I am also linking them below along with everything else in today’s look, so that you can shop and your convenience!

The fact that this tee can be styled so many different ways, make me feel it was a great buy for the season! Especially since it can be worn out and later. Once fall comes around, this T-shirt can be used in the style with a cardigan over it, to create a completely different look. 😉

As you think ahead to fall, what are some of your closet must haves? I’m curious! So leave me a comment below, perhaps I can work up a post with your ideas.

Trendy Thursday LinkUp + How to Style a Denim Skirt

Did you shop the Nordstrom Sale? I did! And contrary to popular belief, I didn’t splurge. I set a budget and stuck to it. Even then, I ended up giving up on some styles that I thought I’d love when shopping online. This bodysuit is one of my top picks and while it’s sold out, I found this one which is very similar and comes in four colors! Plus, it’s on sale right now and under $14! 😉 I’ve thought of a few ways to wear this and thought it would be pair well with a denim skirt. But will likely style it a few more ways and share it with you here or on my social profiles.

To add a fun touch to the look, I thought I’d wear my snakeskin boots which seem to be an item that will trend again this fall. While, I often keep accessories to a minimum but I’ve been playing around with hats and headbands. Especially over on Instagram! I’m liking this hat because it was a great find at under $18! It’s a piece that can be worn now and later, and almost year round. The handbag, you’ve seen before and the black option is also part of the N Sale. I love this Tory Burch option because it’s similar to the Gucci Camera Bag but much more affordable! 😃

Trendy Thursday LinkUp: Bodysuits + Jeans

SHOP BODYSUIT HERE

Bodysuits are one of my favorite styles, in fact one that I wear all year long. Express, one of my favorite retailers has a great selection of bodysuits; including the one that I’m sharing today. This one is on sale and under $20. Plus, it has a fun cutout design on the back. So, I wanted to share it along with some other finds in the bodysuit department.

I love bodysuits because they can be worn so many ways, with jeans (like I did here), skirts, shorts, and even trouser. I also love that if it’s a style that buttons at the bottom, you don’t necessarily have to wear it that way, you can simply tuck it in and leave it unbuttoned. I point this out because many people have expressed their dislike for bodysuits because of the button requirement.

My style is mostly casual, especially in the summer. And I couldn’t help but wear this bodysuit with my favorite jeans – which I’m linking for you below. I blindly recommend these because they’re great quality. I have worn them many times to create different looks. To accomplish an absolute laid back and casual look, I kept all accessories to the minimum by wearing dainty pieces. Like the layered necklace look, which is somewhat new to me but I’m loving. I still want to add one more piece to complete it though. The bag you have seen many times before because it’s my summer go-to. 🙂 Now, I’m curious to know your opinion on bodysuits.

Trendy Thursday LinkUp: Six Different Ways to Wear Shorts this Summer

Shorts are an essential part of my summer wardrobe – especially living in Houston – temperatures as high at 90+ these are really a must. Because I spend a lot of time in these, I like having different options for styling them. Today I’m sharing six ways I like to wear them in the summer, to give you some inspiration when it comes to wearing shorts. 🙂

Shorts + Blouses

A blouse doesn’t always belong to a dressed up look. Sure they look great with trousers and skirts but jeans and jeans shorts are fair game too. In this look, I went for a casual vibe (my usual) wearing them with a blouse with my favorite slide on sandals, neutral handbag and minimal accessories.

Shorts + Sweaters

Of all the ways to wear shorts, I think wearing them with sweaters is one of my favorite. Especially if paired with a lightweight sweater, one that is breathable enough to wear in summer. This look I think is also perfect for beachside and lakeside days. 🙂

Shorts + Tanks

Tanks are so breeze that this pairing is a no-brainer. I especially love ones that have pretty details like ruffles. As for the shorts are so comfortable, I like the baggy fit and fun details like stitching on the sides and the cuff hem. I paired them with wedges – which are a go-to shoe this summer – and a fun clear bag which can also be worn without the insert. 😉

Shorts + Button Down Shirt

Button down shirts are a wardrobe essential on their own. Because I already owned this one, I thought it would be perfect to pair with shorts and use as a cover up while at the pool. If you follow me on Pinterest, you’ll see a few pins on how to style button down shirts in a similar way to this look.

Shorts + T-shirts

Lastly, paired with t-shirts are a combination you can not go wrong with. This is one of the ways I wear them the most, especially to be around the house. Now tell me, what’s your favorite way to style and wear shorts in the summer?
