I cook at home for my family almost everyday but when we go out to eat there’s a handful of restaurant that always make the list.
Churrascos among my top choices and yes it is family friendly. We have been on several occasion, mostly for lunch. I recommend this place because although of its upscale atmosphere, the prices are affordable. The food is delicious and the drinks are cheap. Speaking of drinks, they have happy hour everyday, from 4PM to 7PM. There are several locations in Houston but the closest to all the Super Bowl activities is Churrascos River Oaks; Churrascos Memorial and Churrascos Westheimer are not too far.
Ra Sushi is hands down one of my favorite sushi spots here in Houston. They have two locations, one on near River Oaks and another at CityCentre. If you’re out late, you can take advantage of their reverse Happy Hour from 11PM to 1AM.
The restaurant at House of Blues may seem like an unlikely place for families, but it is totally kid friendly. We went with our girls and the live music was very entertaining for them. This was the one dinner we were able to enjoy without then fighting or climbing over us.
Because you cannot visit Houston and not have Tacos you have to try Torchy’s Tacos. It is widely known in town as a great place to eat. My only suggestion is to take it easy on spicy sauces. I underestimated the sauces, and did I lament it. My mouth was on fire, even after drinking two cups of root beer.
Russo’s New York Pizzeria is a great place for family. The Midtown location is on the smaller side but the pizza’s are not. This is a great experience for the whole family, the little ones are particularly shocked by how big the pizzas are.
Last but not least, Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe, the food and drinks here are very good. The restaurant sits in a nice plaza off the highway but it has a tranquil environment.
Things to do:
Top Golf is one of our favorite family hang out places. This place provided both entertainment and food. You can hang out until late because they open until 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays. There are multiple locations in Houston, so you have options. It just depends on how far you’re willing to drive.
Bowlmor Lanes is another place my family enjoys. I even hosted my daughter’s birthday here. Since, they have remodeled the entire place and it looks very nice. The service is great too, I have not had any complaints the time I have visited.
Bowlero and Bowl and Barrel are two other places where your entire family can have fun. I have not visited these but have heard great things about both. If you go to either one of these, leave me a comment telling me about your experience.
