Intentional Prayer

This morning, I shared a simple but powerful image on Instagram, with the word Pray on it. It was something I felt in my heart but also seemed appropriate for a day like today, Sunday.

Coincidently, today’s message included these same words. At out church we were advised that we set aside 15 minutes each day to dedicate to prayer. He went on to describe what the typical day for most working parents looks like and how busy our lives are. All to which I could not help but nod, it was all too relatable. And at the same time, I realized that 15 minutes of prayer is not something that most of us will actually take the time to do. But I personally would love to at least try.

He said “If you think that you will pray whenever we have time, you may not get to pray.” Why? Because something always comes up! So, he concluded his message by telling us that we need to make time for prayer. That through prayer we would encounter Jesus.

And his words resonated with me, as before going to church I had already thought about this. How could I be more intentional in praying? Not leaving it to chance, but making sure that praying took priority in my schedule.

Honestly, I don’t quite have an answer for this, but I am working towards taking action and praying more.

If you have any advise on how to become more intentional in prayer, I’d love to hear about it.

Saludos,
