Last week I made a chicken stuffed French bread, a new family favorite. I stumbled across this recipe a few months ago, and have made it a few times since. The recipe calls for some simple ingredients; chicken, bacon, cheese, mayo, sour cream… Most of these ingredients you probably already own, no need for a grocery trip.
First, I cooked a chicken breast. Yes one breast was enough because I used one small loaf. I’m also only feeding two adults and two kids who are very lightweight eaters. This step took me about 25 minutes but you can cut the prep and cook time if you buy chicken that is already shredded (I have purchased this at Kroger before). Or use left over shredded chicken.
Before our trip to Panama one thing was certain – aside from visiting friends and family – we wanted to take on an adventure. The kind of adventure that goes on your bucket list and you feel accomplished to scratch off once you’ve done it. Bocas del Toro was just that for us, one heck of an adventure. Am I longing to go back? Absolutely! Am I trying to persuade people to visit? Maybe…
And if I was asked to sum up Bocas del toro in as few words as possible.
I’d say; “it is Panama’s hidden gem.”
In our home, we eat a fresh cooked meal almost everyday. There are days that we go out to eat. And then there are days when I’m feeling lazy! As a result, I scramble through Pinterest for inspiration and ideas.
Yesterday, was one of those days. Since it was a holiday, instead of Monday it felt like a weekend day. Even with both girls at home, the day was moving slow and there I was feeling lazy.
Not knowing what to make for dinner. I thought a soup would be a good and easy meal. So I got to work and whipped up a quick chicken tortilla soup.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen posts from my busy holiday vacation. I started out driving from Texas to Georgia – making a one night layover in Mississippi – to spend Christmas with my family. Then from Georgia, I flew to Panama with my husband. A vacation that we had been looking forward to, for months. Somewhat of a honey moon for us, since our littles stayed back in Georgia with my family.
We planned a ten day itinerary, although the first and last day were spent traveling. Why Panama?! We chose this destination because it is still home for me, I have family and friends there too. Also, because my husband had visited once before and fallen in love with it. But this trip was a little different since we visited a few new places and ventured further away from the city. Our plans included a visit Aguadulce and Bocas del Toro, but ended up adding Colón and Coronado to the list.
I came across so many cute holiday throw pillows and covers online this month. Unfortunately, I had a promise to keep. In my last post, I shared how I vowed not to get carried away decorating our home this year. And I planned to keep this promise. But honestly, I was feeling a little down about this, the couch needs holiday cheer (I kept telling myself). And being the DIYer that I am, I got to doing some research and was able to pull off making some DIY throw pillows. That’s right!
They are not perfect but hey I had a lot of fun making them and the family loves using them when we hang out in the living room.
I can’t believe Christmas day is only in a few days. My little one is so excited and beyond all the chaos in my head, I am too. We will be spending part of the holidays with my family and knowing this, I promised my husband not to get carried away with decorating. Surprisingly, I kept this very promise and have managed to only add a few bits of holiday cheer around our home.
I will share some of the photos I have taken. And a peek into some DIYs I was able to complete as well.
This is a partial shot of the living room, where I added throw pillows that I made. I will share a tutorial on this in a later post this week, so stay tuned. Read More
