Trendy Thursday LinkUP + Tips for Dressing for Fall in the South

No Fall? No Problem! Here are some tips for dressing for fall, especially if you live somewhere in the south where fall is non-existent…

One of  my favorite hacks for dressing for fall in warm weather is to add accessories that are associated with fall. Fall accessories like Fedora hats, for example are among those. Though these are sometimes worn year round, they are mostly seeing in the fall. So adding a hat to your look can be a fun way to add a tad of fall to an outfit.

Add new colors! This is a no-brainer but wearing darker colors is a good way to take part in fall trends and celebrate the season. This year’s fall color trends include Military Olive, Magenta Purple, Rose Tan and twelve others. Incorporating some of these into your wardrobe can give your outfits a sense of fall. So have fun playing with color.

Wear boots… Yes, ankle boots are a great style to wear in warmer weather. And a good way to add a hint of fall to any look. Of course that if the weather allows, I’d say go for those OTK boots too. 🙂 Here’s how I wear booties when getting ready for fall.

Light layers is my last hack for dressing for fall in the warm weather. No, you don’t necessarily have to wear the layers. What do I mean? You can wear a jean jacket or plaid shirt around your waist, for example. Even wear a basic t-shirt with a utility vest over it.

The most important thing is to make every outfit your own. So, don’t be afraid to have fun or mix and match. 🙂

  1. These are great tips! I live in Michigan where it gets really cold, really early, but these are great ideas for how to make my cold weather clothes work when I travel to warmer places! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I live in Tennessee and know how weird the fall can be! We had a really nice weekend a few weeks ago and now it’s crazy hot again. We normally don’t even pull out heavy coats until maybe January.
