While it’s true that we still have not decided which schooling option we will choose for the year, maintaining a sense of normalcy feels important to us. Whether we decide to distance learn or head to the classrooms, we thought it would be a great idea to begin shopping for back to school. Thankfully Dollar General is open to shoppers and is still offering great low prices on our favorite brands. You can find all you need to send the little ones back to school in one place. I started shopping for items that I know the girls will need; school supplies, safety items and food/snacks. I want to share a little about each category with you, so that you have a good idea of what you can get at your local Dollar General.
I found organization items like lunchboxes and backpacks. My favorite find was the five piece set which brought a backpack, lunch bag, carabiner clip, pencil case and ruler. All this for only $10. There I also found supplies like notebooks, folders, coloring pencils and pens. I picked up the Office Hub notebooks because of their price point and simple design. And folders with fun designs to contrast the notebooks. 🙂
If you think that you’ll be homeschooling, I’d suggest checking out the wide variety of learning activities items that Dollar General offers, like puzzles, activity and coloring books. When you head into your local Dollar General, make sure to take advantage of the $5 OFF $15 stationary digital coupon. Make sure to download the DG App to start saving with DG Digital Coupons.
If you’re a teacher or know a teacher let them know that DG offers a 20% OFF teacher’s discount with their badge at checkout. This applies to the entire purchase.
Due to the circumstances we face this year, I also picked up a few safety items. Dollar General is offering items like designer masks and regular masks. On top of products like hand sanitizer, hand wipes, tissue, and gloves which have always been available in store.
Lunch Time Essentials
I love shopping for our favorite snacks at Dollar General because not only do they carry their brands like the DGLF chocolates but also some name brand like Dole fruit gels. I got a few of our favorite crackers by Clover Valley, which Nalani loves pairing with cheese or pepperonis. Nayelli’s favorite, Sour Cream and Onion chips. This year, I also found the cutest plastic baggies with princess designs. These will surely make the girls smile when it’s snack/lunch time.
I know these are times of uncertainty. Many people hesitate to shop in-store but believe me when I say that Dollar General has create a safe shopping environment for all shoppers. There are sneeze guards in all stores and social distancing is enforced. Some stores even have the option of DG Pickup just make sure to check if it’s available at your local store. Teachers, be sure to check out DG’s Teacher’s Center that has tips and more for you!
